Bella Brooklyn
The first time I met Brooklyn was the summer of ’97, a few short weeks after I’d landed in New York City. I was on my way to an event near the Brooklyn Heights promenade, and found myself lost in a veritable wanderlust of majestic brownstones and tree-lined streets. The flowers were in full bloom, and the sun was setting on the water, and I thought to myself, with absolute certainty, “I must live here.”
It’s strange to think of getting lost in Brooklyn now that I’ve been in NYC for nearly 12 years.
I have been all over the world and seen some pretty beautiful things, but, to this day, Brooklyn is the place that warms my heart the most.
